Ricky Martin
Ricky Martin is an international superstar known for his singing. In 2000, Ricky Martin founded The Ricky Martin Foundation. In 2004, the Ricky Martin Foundation launched its primary program, People for Children, which is devoted to combating human trafficking. Ricky Martin travels around the world to witness human trafficking and to spread awareness by giving speeches. In 2007, the Ricky Martin Foundation made a partnership with Microsoft to make a movement to protect children from online threats and predators. He started a school in his home country of Puerto Rico, which actively prevents and combats modern-day slavery. |
TOny Maddox
Tony Maddox is a journalist for CNN. In 2011, he founded the CNN Freedom Project: Ending Modern Slavery. The project is responsible for reporting on human trafficking around the world and investigating what it looks like. The CNN Freedom Project helps survivors speak out against slavery and build global awareness of the issue. He provides assistance to thousands of survivors and donates millions of dollars to anti-trafficking organizations. |
Gary Haugen
Gary Haugen is the creator and CEO of IJM, The International Justice Mission. Before founding IJM, Gary Haugen was the Officer in charge of the UN’s Center for Human Rights genocide investigation in Rwanda. IJM has prosecuted many human traffickers and saved many victims. Overall between 2006 and 2012, IJM has assisted over 4000 victims and prosecuted over 200 offenders. |
